READ THE SUMMARIES

How it works

You will cross reference the summaries found in parts 1&3* for each knowledge area.

You will record their page locations on the chapter title page for each knowledge area. That way, you can reference them easily and efficiently each time you return to the chapter.  This will increase the chances that you review them often.

Reading these summaries before tackling a chapter gives you a broad understanding of what you are about to read.  This gives you a conceptual framework on which to hang all of the (voluminous) detail which will emerge as you read.  This makes for a much better learning experience.
  * Footnote:  Part-1 covers the knowledge areas.  Part-2 discusses the process groups.  Part-3 contains appendixes, including summaries of the knowledge areas in part-1.  More on the organization of PMBOK in a later post.
