MASTER THE VOCABULARY

How to use this information

Color-coding your glossary in this manner has residual benefits, even after and beyond the initial learning experience.

  1. Over time, these color-cues will help you to learn to associate each term with a given category.  This provides a foundational meaning as you begin to read.

  2. You should use the glossary to review the vocabulary regularly and often (each night before sleep, for example).  This kind of routine exposure reinforces the association, and incorporates the new information as it develops through continued reading.

  3. Color-coding your glossary makes every future exposure to the glossary (for any reason) a high-quality, multi-sensory review. It also makes the glossary more scannable as a reference or study aid.

  4. Your annotated glossary will be a useful resource for exam prep and review.

It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
